TOWN OF MASHPEE <br /> AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT COMMITTEE <br /> MINUTES <br /> DECEMBER 11, 2005 <br /> Members present: Robert Wooldridge, Beverly Wooldridge, William Dundon, Charles <br /> Maintanis, Patricia,Parolski, Patricia Lugo, Merton Sapers <br /> Absent: Marilyn Farren <br /> Also present: Theresa Cook, Selectman Liaison, Catherine Laurent DPW Director, <br /> Richard Hawryluk, DPW Foreman <br /> Chairman Robert Wooldridge called the meeting to order at 2:00 PM in the Town <br /> Hall Conference Room # 2 <br /> Minutes: November 13, 2008 Motion to approve by Patricia Parolski, seconded by <br /> Merton Sapers,Vote: Unanimous <br /> Beach Access: Catherine Laurent and Richard Hawryluk discussed with the committee <br /> several possibilities to improve disabled access to the town beaches. The ADA members <br /> provided Ms. Laurent and Mr. Hawryluk with all of the information that had been <br /> collected and discussed at ADA meetings in the past. Ms. Lugo presented a rough <br /> sketch of a possible solution with a walkway and sitting area that could be built by the <br /> DPW. It was noted that there are other departments in town that will have to be <br /> consulted before anything can move forward, i.e. the Conservation Office and Leisure <br /> Services. It was agreed that Ms. Laurent and Mr. Hawryluk would report back at the <br /> next ADA meeting on January 8, 2009 with possible costs, options, etc. <br /> It was also brought to the attention of the ADA committee that the town owns two <br /> Beach Access Chairs and the need to get the word out of their availability and what the <br /> process is to reserve the use of them. <br /> Planning and Construction Committee: Trish Parolski gave a quick synopsis of the <br /> ongoing construction projects in town: <br /> 1 Fire Sub-station was just recently completed and is in ADA compliance <br /> 2 The Library project is just getting underway with the lot being cleared and the <br /> demolition of the present building just beginning, so there are no ADA issues at <br /> this time <br /> South Cape Village: Parking issues continue to be a concern of the ADA members. <br /> There is to be a public hearing held by the Planning Board in the near future with <br />
