4 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> N nutes <br /> Monday, March 1 , 2013 <br /> Recess: 6:25 p.m. Meeting Resumed: :30 p.m. <br /> APP INnffiNTS HEARINGS: <br /> P bllc Corn nt: <br /> Cape Light Compact Manager, Kevin Galligan discussed the Municipal IED <br /> Streetlight Demonstration project with the Board and interested public. Last <br /> February, eight LED fixtures were installed in the Town of Mahpee. Four were <br /> sited in - e sidential area along Route 130 opposite the back entrance to the <br /> Mashpee Town Hall, and the remahamng lighting was situated in a commercial <br /> area on Route 151 near the Municipal complex. <br /> Mr. Gallian indicated that it is important for the Compact to gain feedback in <br /> order to proceed with the retrofitting of all streetlights in the Town of Mashpee.- <br /> ' he survey can be found at the following locations the Town's website: <br /> www.mashpeema.gov, at the Compact's website: <br /> www.ca els htcor actor ledstreetl'i �ht r by calling 800-797-6699 for a <br /> aper copy of the survey. <br /> With feedback from the consumers,the DPW and the Town an RFP would b gm* <br /> the bid process in July with a bid award in the fall. The installation of Masbpee's <br /> 64 streetlights is anticipated to be completed by June of 2014. <br /> Benefits to the new-streetlight program include louder energy usage, longer life <br /> expectancy,improved light duality and approximately$13,000 in annual <br /> st=tlight hill savings. The project is fly funded through the gape sight <br /> Compact Energy Efficiency Program with the exception of police detail from <br /> each partici athig community. <br /> i <br />
