Spe ial. v ts: On Saturday,Mashpee will honor the five fallen soldiers who died in the wars of Afghanistan and Iraq at the veterans Memorial garden. I e ceremony and dedication of the plaques will be held at 10:00 a.m. Habitat for Hurnggity Home Dedication: Sele trnan Richardson and Selectmen Sherman attended the recent Habitat for Humanity Home Dedication at 24 Russell Road. Community Preservation Act funding assisted in the affordable hone construction. Springy F"ahi. son�h springy; fashion show with pre-school models was held at the Mashpee High School in support of the Kids Klub. Easter EaR Hunt. Mashpee's annual Easter Egg Hunt was held at the Community Park this year. Approximately 250 children attended the Town sponsored event. 'own Meeting This year, Selectman Richardson ardson and Selectmen Sherman read the May Town Meeting wa ant into the Audible Ledger. Schools: Recently,the Town Manager and Board of Selectmen and School Committee Chairmen met with Dr. Steven Hiersche,the newly appointed School Superintendent to get acquainted and discuss upcoming challenges in the'down of Mashpee. Dr. thersche will assume the position on July I". . �e Cares: 1t was noted that Mashpee Cares will be partnering with the Town of Falmouth on issues such as bullying, alcohol,drugs and coping. A grant was received from the Kelly Foundation to assist in the partnership of the neighboring tom. It was noted the Cape Cod Tomes has presented several articles of interest pertaining to local drug and alcohol abuse. , Kiwams Clean-u : 'phis Saturday,the Mashpee�wanis flub is sponsoring clean-up at John's Pond. Gun Return Pro am: The Mashpee Police Department is holding a Firearms 'urn-in on Saturday from 1:00 p.m.to 4:00 p fro. Guns and ammunition can be dropped off at the Police Department located at Frank Hicks Drive or picked up by certified personnel.
