Fudala requested the doors be closed as some of the information
regarding the land purchase prices was not ,public knowledge .
Tom noted that there are five articles proposing consecration
land acquisition . The Finance Committee expressed their opinion
that the tern should determine how the- revues from the
cranberry bogs should be used . Mashpee has been in the cranberry
business tr'pp years and the town should determine how funds are
used , These funds should not be earmarked for the acquisition o
land only . Toili noted that the Department of Fisheries is iftterested
in some of the "parcel of land . The Department, of Fisheries
moves slowly and there -is the possibility that if these lands
are not purchased in the' near future they will no longer be
available .
The priorities on the land acquisition would be the Shield
and Atsalis property . Chairman Blythe noted that if all works
out for the best with the Department of Fisheries , the Town
Planner is seeking an appropriation of $200 , 000 . Torn noted that
there is Self--Help grunt money available .
