The committee ret <br /> to discuss FY 85 budget requests. All budgets were approved unanimously unless <br /> otherwise noted, <br /> School Department - A letter was received from Dr. Nicholson stating the school <br /> budget has been completed. The school Committee and the Finance Committee will <br /> meet on Wednesday, February 29 to go over their budget. The date for the meeting <br /> has been rescheduled for Monday,- March at p.m. because Dr. Nicholson has <br /> another meeting scheduled for 2/29/84. <br /> Elections and Registration - salaries $1256 requested and approved, Wages $2950 <br /> requested and approved, Expenses - - (to be included in Central Purchasing or <br /> Town Clerk's budget) , Clerical wages --$5710 requested anad $6544 approved which <br /> will include a step and increase. <br /> Tax Collector/Treasurer - Salary Treasurer $10,331.10, Salary Tax Colector $10,331.10 <br /> approved; salary ssistant , 1. , 1 .8 (included longevity pay of $225) approved; 4 <br /> Clerical gages requested $2 ,72.80 plus $lo longevity pay, correct wages of <br /> $22,910.50 plus $150 longevity pad' approved; Wages $2000 requested, $1055 approved; <br /> Expenses $10,100 requested, $9800 considered. The expense portion requested <br /> $7800 for bill printing, which previously had been included in the Assessors <br /> budget. The Assessors budget was not reduced by, the sane amount. The Tax Collector <br /> will be invited to a meeting to discuss her budget. No vote was taken on the <br /> Unclassified section of the budget as the rates for Blue Cross are not available. <br /> Fred Blythe- felt the premium should be lower than FY 84, probably $180,000 to <br /> $190,000. <br /> Harbor Master - Approved as requested - Salary $1700, Expense $3525 <br /> Park and Recreation - Director's Salary $19,157.66 requested, $19,157.84 approved <br /> Wages $4912.80, Lifeguard Wages $17,759.40, Expense $15,800 requested, no vote <br /> taken.. The cornmittee felt that, because the Lifeguards and Parking Lot Attendents <br /> are temporary employees, they should not be entitled to stew increases or retroactive <br /> cost of living increases. A letter will be sent to the Personnel Board, with <br /> a copy to the Board of Selectmen and Wendy Rubin, asking ing their thoughts on the <br /> matter. <br /> Board of Appeals - Approved as requested - Expense $ 0, Wages $2900. <br /> Accounting - Tern Polka, tern accountant, requested $22r218-56 as her salary. <br /> She felt she should be on the same level as the assistant assessor. Mrs. Polka <br /> is waiting for the Board of Selectmen to make thein r000mm dation. No vote was <br /> taken on the budget. <br />
