Town Mashpee <br /> i16 Great Neck.Road North <br /> Mashpee, Massachusetts 02649 <br /> FINANCE COMMITTEE— PUBLIC SESSION <br /> Minutes of the Meeting of December 15, 201 <br /> Board Members 'resent: Also Present: <br /> Christopher Avis, Chairman Joyce Mason, Town Manager <br /> Charles Gasior, Vice Chairman Torn Bayo, Assistant Town Manager <br /> Mark Davini, Clerk Scott McGee: School Committee Member <br /> -George Schmidt <br /> James Condor <br /> Oskar Klenert <br /> Robert Chalker <br /> CALL To ORDER <br /> Chairman Christopher Avis cafled the me eting to order at 6:35 PM. <br /> APPROVAL AL of MINUTES <br /> George Schmidt made a motion that the minutes of the meeting of 10117/11 be approved as <br /> amended. Mark Davini seconded the motion. -Christopher Arris abstained. The motion was <br /> approved. <br /> NEIN BUSINESS <br /> 1. Transfers. No transfers. <br /> . Appropriations Report— Mara Darvini received several months of budget appropriations from <br /> Chris Avis, who started that the pink slips reflected the monies taken out, which should balance out. <br /> Chris-asked that'Mark handle the signage of the slips. <br /> . Committee Liaison Reports <br /> School Committee— George Schmidt <br /> The committee voted to make the position from part-tine to full brine and increase the pay of one <br /> of the mess hail staff. <br /> The school department is contemplating going from textbooks to tablets. Current infrastructure <br /> does not have the capability to support student use of tablets. <br /> report of ars increase to over 30% of students who qualify for free or reduced cost reals <br /> = Chapter 70 formula hasn't changed in over 20 gears and there is some maneuvering to have the <br /> state make a change in the formula that would benefit the town. <br /> .Public Safety— Mark Daim <br /> Police Chief Collins conducted a tour of the police department, pointing out iters on the <br /> department's wish lista for possible inclusion in future budgets to enhance the departmental <br /> infrastructure. Mark reported that at the budget meeting the Fire Department made it clear that <br /> even though they handed in a close to level funded budget, they had reduced their response time <br /> by 20 seconds. Mark plans to visit Fire Department Chief Baker in the next few creeks. <br /> 1 <br />
