TO ORDER <br /> The meeting was called to order Vath a quorum at 7:01 p.m. by Chairman Myers. <br /> APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES <br /> Motion made by Mr. Baker to approve the minutes of September 10,2009 as amended. <br /> Motion seconded by Ms.Waygan. All voted unanimously. <br /> Co CATIONS <br /> There was no public comment at this time. <br /> MASHPEE BLUE BOOK <br /> Beverly Dane reported that she and Evelyn Bushenfeld met with Joseph Beck at Upper Cape <br /> Technical School to discuss costs of outputting the boob. The school has the appropriate materials <br /> and equipment to create the boob and� .oul require a PDF document to output it. The proposal <br /> costs for color output are as follows: <br /> 500 books @ $1.70 each=$8,500.00 <br /> . 7,500 books @ $1.55 each=$11,625.00 <br /> 10,000 @$1.30 each=$13,000.00 <br /> Regarding the re-naming of the book,the Chair questioned Mr. Theis whether or not the Chamber <br /> would be interested in naming the book. Mr. Theis suggested that the contest be town vide and/or <br /> work Within the school system. ether naming ideas were discussed such as a duck race. <br /> The Committee expressed interest in working with the School Committee contact in order to start <br /> assigmg <br /> `n graphics to be re-designed by the students. Mr. Theis volunteered to assist as contact with <br /> the schools and the Chair announced that a science teacher from the High School has volunteered to <br /> serve as a representative'on the Conunittee. The Chair will contact the School Committee to <br /> .determine if they would consider sponsoring a naming contest in order to involve the children. It <br /> was also suggested that the High School Envirorumental Club be invited to manage the school used <br /> naming contest. It was noted that the school year will be dosing in.lune and members want to see <br /> graphics and naming completed before the enol of the year. <br /> A draft for the introduction pages and Chapter l was shared with members of the Conunittee. Ms. <br /> Kane indicated that the graphics for the introduction and Chapter 1 sloes not require any changes. <br /> The deletion of existing graphics is tedious,but the Ma hpee Environmental Coalition will identify <br /> graphics that could be reproduced by students. It was suggested that graphics depicting cartoon <br /> type images, not charts and graphs,would be candidates for replacement with student artwork. The <br /> PDF mill be provided to the school contacts in order to assist with identifying replaceable images. <br />
