2 <br /> Board of Selectmen � <br /> Minutes <br /> August 18, 2003 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Financial Planning Team: <br /> The Financial Management Team comprised of membership from the <br /> following Town Departments; Town Accountant, Treasurer/Tax Collector, <br /> Director of Assessing, Fire Chief, Deputy Police Chief, DPW Director-and <br /> School Superintendent are presently engaging in discussions towards the <br /> development of a long-range financial plan for the Town of Mashpee. <br /> Five objectives were outlined in a memorandum from the Town <br /> Administrator addressed to the Selectmen dated August 11, 2003. <br /> In an effort to explore all options without any intended bias, it was <br /> suggested the Selectmen consider the employment of an impartial expert <br /> to assist in the development of the outlined management objectives. <br /> An in-depth discussion followed with respect to the use of an outside <br /> consultant. A cost projection for the intended scope of services was not <br /> fully defrnd. <br /> It was agreed that the Departmental Management Team begin initial <br /> review of the five initiatives reporting to the Board of Selectmen on a <br /> quarterly basis. Additional membership would include representation <br /> from the Finance Committee, and the use of an outside consultant would <br /> be further considered if the support was deemed obligatory. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Public Tlarin —J.P.
