i w Board of Selectmen Minutes January 27, 2003 NEW BUSINESS: Re nest for Approval to APPIV for 3 Grants—Planning Department: Tom Fudala, Town Planner was present to request approval to apply for three grants as outlined in his memorandum addressed to the Selectmen dated January 2, 2003. Under the County's "Response to Growth!'prograrn to encourage implementation of Local Comprehensive Planes, up to $25,000 is available per town for projects involving local bylaw development and adoption of key regulatory changes identified by the town. In addition, the Planning Department has also request that Town Counsel, Kopehnan& Paige, acting as Town Counsel to the Town of Sandwich, to advise that town on developing the financial administration structure for the Joint Land Use Study project. It was noted that Town Counsel would not be advising their clients to the detriment of another. There would not be any additional.costs to the Town of Mashpee by Town Counsel for the referenced advisement. Motion made by Selectman 1 larsters to approve the request of the Planning Department to apply for the three grants as depicted, and support the advisement of Town Counsel to the Town of Sandwich as outlined. Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. VOTE: Unanimous. -o, Request for Differential—Treasurer's Office: Selectman Taylor stepped down for the above referenced agenda item. Correspondence was received from the Treasurer Tax Collector dated January 21, 2003 recommending the pay differential of Katherine Milligan clue to early retirement and as per contractual agreement. Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to approve the pay differeintial of Katherine Milligan in accordance with the union contract for the retirement of Marilyn Hendricks effective December 31, 2002. Lotion seconded by Selectman Green. VOTE: Unanimous. -0. Selectman Taylor abstained.
