Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> July 14, Zoo <br /> A P fNT ENTS AND HEARINGS <br /> DPW Director: <br /> Pro sed Sidewalk on old Barnstable load: <br /> R. Gregory'Taylor, Director of Public works was present to discuss the <br /> proposed sidewalk on Old Barnstable load with the Selectmen and <br /> interested public. <br /> Correspondence was received from Assistant Director, Catherine Laurent <br /> dated June I o, 2003 with respect to this regard. <br /> It was noted that the proposal was brought forward as a result of concerns <br /> from the Southport retirement community. lair. 'Taylor indicated that at <br /> this time,the proposal in not ready for the Selectmen's final review and <br /> approval. <br /> Additional correspondence from the Mashpee Building Department dated <br /> June 30, 2003 was presented. <br /> Terms of the Special.Permit as issued by the Zoning Board of Appeals <br /> were disclosed. The Selectmen agreed to notify the Z A of violations <br /> with said permit, and of negotiations with the Department of Public Works <br /> relative to this project. The Building Inspector will also receive <br /> notification of this matter. <br /> Several residents of the Southport community addressed concerns on <br /> behalf of the unit owners. In particular, they do not want to see the unit <br /> owners assume additional costs that are the respective responsibility of the <br /> developer for compliance. <br /> In response, the Selectmen agreed to request the ZBA discuss the special <br /> permit issue in public hearing format. The Board also indicated that they <br /> would work closely with the Zoning Board of Appeals on this matter. <br />
