Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> September 22, 2003 <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Mashpee Rot@a Discussion. cotnaued <br /> Strategies as presented to the Selectmen consider status quo, rotary buss <br /> alternatives with related advance notice as it pertains to signage and <br /> signaliatron proposals. <br /> .dames Vaccaro representative of Iashpee Commons discussed options to <br /> reduce rotary traffic using bypass alternative routes to divert motorists <br /> from the rotary. Proposals also consider the widening of the roadways to <br /> the rotary and developing the one-way portion of old Barnstable Road t <br /> two-way to accommodate Mashpee place traffic. Lisa Cox, counsel <br /> representing Mashpee Place and vana se and Associates discussed their <br /> commitment to work with the Town to address any issues relative to the <br /> project proposal. <br /> In response to the conceptual proposals brought forth during discussion, <br /> the Selectmen requested the developers consider signaliation in the area. <br /> of Great Neck Road Forth. Concern was voiced by the Board with <br /> regards to increased traffic on alternative bypass goads, intersections and <br /> the impact Haat would occur in residential neighborhoods. The repair of <br /> the alternative bypass roads and costs associated to bring the roads to <br /> standard with added traffic was also a noted concern of the Board. The <br /> Selectmen also requested that updated policies relative to curb cuts be <br /> further reviewed. it was noted that the public would be able to make <br /> comment at future pudic hearings. <br /> i <br />
