At the hearing, the Selectmen will hear testimony as to what will be the Fiscal
Year 2018 residential factor which will determine the share of taxes each classification of property will
pay, what will be the open space factor, and whether there will be a residential exemption and/or a small
business exemption.
In accordance to posting requirements, the Hearing notice was read aloud into the record. Jason
Streebel, Director of Assessing was in attendance with Craig Mayen, the Treasurer/Tax Collector to
facilitate the Tax Rate Classification Hearing.
Mr. Streebel indicated the proposed tax rate is $8.92 per$1,000 valuation, which is a reduction in the tax
rate of$0.16 from last year due to the debt paid from the Mashpee High School project. This will
represent an average tax bill reduction of$100-$150 per household.
