Since that time,the project has been included on the <br /> Town's Capital Improvement Program (CIP) but has not been funded. It was most recently <br /> included in the FY17 CIP. <br /> With the approval of the Board of Selectmen, the Town applied in February 2016 to the <br /> Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) for a grant for replacement of the windows <br /> and doors (an application had been filed in 2013 but was not funded). On May 25th, the Town <br /> was notified that the project was invited to participate in the Accelerated Repair Program. <br /> The invitation to participate is the first step in a multi-step process. Below is a summary of the <br /> process. <br /> 1. The Town completes a schematic design/project estimate, after committing to pay 100% of <br /> the cost for this design. The MSBA will reimburse the Town approximately 38% of this cost, <br /> estimated to be around $50,000. <br /> r <br /> 2. Upon completion of the schematic design,the MSBA votes whether to fund the final design <br /> and construction. Per the MSBA staff, 98% of projects are approved for funding. <br /> 3. Within 90-days of the MSBA vote,the Town has to commit fundingfor 100% of the <br /> estimated projects costs (again,the Town would be reimbursed approximately 38%of the <br /> costs). <br /> 4. Design and then construction can proceed. <br /> On June 6th, the Board of Selectmen voted to accept the invitation to participate in the <br /> Accelerated Repair Program.
