Mashpee Nutrient Control Bylaw; Update on next steps <br /> The Chair noted the Mashpee Nutrient Control By-law passed at town meeting and the Town has <br /> not yet heard from the Attorney General's office. <br /> Estuary Restoration/Shellfish Propagation; Update <br /> DRI Review; IMA's with other towns: Update <br /> Mr. Gottlieb stated the Commission is waiting for us to do our intermunicipal agreement so they <br /> can revise the DRI process then they will no longer do a DRI review for projects like ours. <br /> Planning for sewers; connections with private sewers: Update <br /> Mr. Gottlieb noted nothing meaningful going on with private connections. Conversations are <br /> ongoing with Mashpee Commons about the next phase in development which ties up to some <br /> extent their willingness to allocate capacity to the town. Ultimately, what we would like to see is <br /> that the discharge line is extended down to New Seabury and we would be able to pump a ton of <br /> more wastewater thru that facility. <br /> Pond & Estuary Water Quality Monitoring: Update <br /> The Chair noted Dale McKay will take over the monitoring Water Quality of the ponds which <br /> supplements Rick York's monitoring program. <br /> Quashnet River Restoration/Realignment Project: Update <br /> Horsley Witten was hired to do the evaluation with the option of them doing more later. <br /> REPORTS <br /> Conservation Department Report: <br /> Land Stewards Program: Update <br /> Katelyn Cadoret noted she has been working with AmeriCorps and cleared some of the <br /> conservation areas especially Besse Bogs. She just finished updating the list and will be <br /> scheduling a meeting. <br /> Interactive Trail Mapping: Update <br /> She said Dillon Stevens is doing You Tube videos for Conservation. He has done one for John's <br /> Pond and will be doing one for Santuit Pond Preserves and Mashpee River Woodlands. <br /> Herring Count and Herring Ladder Improvements: Update <br /> Katelyn announced the town has been awarded a$40,000 grant for the planning and the design <br /> of the John's Pond Fish Ladder. She noted there is concern with the stormwater runoff at the <br /> Mashpee Herring Run on the fish ladder side. <br /> Farley Bog Restoration: Update <br /> None <br /> Discussion and recommendations for limiting off-road vehicle, ATV and dirt bike damage <br /> to Conservation Lands: Update <br /> 2 <br />
