f <br /> COUNCIL ON AGING MINUTES <br /> OCTOBER 19,2016 <br /> Present: Council on Aging Members: Ernie Cormelssen, Jean Noussee, David Eget, <br /> Virginia McIntyre, Marijo Gorney, Irving Goldberg, Council on Aging Director Lynne <br /> Waterman and Outreach Coordinator Darlene Perkins. <br /> Absent: Mary Gaffney,Norah McCormick, Jack Jordan <br /> Chairman Ernie Cornelssen opened the meeting at 8:35 a.m. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES - September 14,2016 <br /> Motion: David Egel moved to approve the minutes of September 14, 2016, seconded <br /> by Jean Noussee Vote 6-0 <br /> Public Comments <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE <br /> DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br /> Director Lynne Waterman distributed her report for the month of September. The <br /> Director highlighted she met with several leaders of various ongoing activities. She <br /> noted several special activities took place in honor of September being National Senior <br /> Center month. She planned several programs for November and began the training of the <br /> new Activity Coordinator. She also met with a possible instructor for a class and with <br /> AARP Tax Assistance coordinator to plan for the February 2017 schedule. <br /> The Director noted there were no issues with the van. The Director and the Outreach <br /> Coordinator continued to meet with the van drivers at their monthly meeting. <br /> The Director also stated there were no issues with the building in September but noted <br /> annual inspections are ongoing. <br /> The Director announced a new Activity Coordinator , Linda Rosa, was hired and began <br /> her new duties at the end of September and is being trained. She thanked the Council on <br /> Aging staff for their assistance while the office assistant is on leave. <br /> The Director thanked the Council on Aging volunteer who worked with her to prepare <br /> the Newsletter. <br /> The Director reviewed a list of several meetings she attended. <br /> The Director stated she prepared the proposed annual operating budget for FY 2018. She <br /> also spoke at a recent Board of Selectmen's meeting regarding proposed changes to the <br />
