COUNCIL ON AGING MINUTES <br /> SEPTEMBER 14, 2016 <br /> Present: Council on Aging Members: Ernie Cornelssen, Mary Gaffney, Jean Noussee, <br /> David Egel, Jack Jordan, Council on Aging Director Lynne Waterman and Outreach <br /> Coordinator Darlene Perkins. <br /> Also Present: Catherine Laurent, DPW Director <br /> Absent: Virginia McIntyre,Norah McCormick, Marijo Gorney, Irving Goldberg <br /> Chairman Ernie Cornelssen opened the meeting at 8:35 a.m. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES -August 10,2016 <br /> Motion: David Egel moved to approve the minutes of August 10,2016,seconded by <br /> Mary Gaffney. Vote 5-0 <br /> Public Comments <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE <br /> DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br /> Director Lynne Waterman distributed her report for the month of August. The Director <br /> highlighted she met with several leaders of various ongoing activities. The Director has <br /> planned several new activities for the fall and is handling these responsibilities until a <br /> new activity coordinator is hired. <br /> The Director stated the lift on the CCRTA van was repaired. The Director and Outreach <br /> Coordinator met with the van drivers at their monthly meeting. She noted one of the van <br /> drivers conducted an outreach presentation at one of the local senior housing sites. <br /> The Director reviewed various building repairs and maintenance for the month. <br /> The Director reviewed staff coverage and training and scheduled a staff training to be <br /> conducted by MIIA in November. She thanked the Council on Aging members who are <br /> assisting while the department is short staffed. <br /> The Director and Volunteer Coordinator completed the review of the staff's use of <br /> volunteers, planned a volunteer focus group and scheduled two future volunteer trainings. <br /> The Director listed several meetings she attended. She noted she and the Outreach <br /> Coordinator participated in the Mashpee Police Department's first annual Night Out <br /> community event. The Director and Outreach Coordinator completed the annual SGA <br /> report and submitted it to the State Executive Office of Elder Affairs. <br />
