Minutes of Meeting of
Mashpee Design Review Committee
Tuesday, November 1, 2016
Mashpee Town Hall Popponesset Meeting Room
Committee.Members Present: Joseph Cummings, Jonathan Furbush, and
Michael Mendoza.
Michael Mendoza called the meeting to order at 8:31 a.m.
168 Industrial Drive— Mashpee Industrial Realty, LLC
Applicant proposes to construct additional parking
Spaces in areas formally landscaped.
Engineer: Matt Eddy/Baxter Nye Engineering
Representative — Kevin Kirrane
Attorney Kevin Kirrane appeared and stated Applicant had been before the
Planning Board a couple of times. He said people have been parking on the
grass and on the street. Since meeting with the Planning Board, they have met
with a couple of the tenants and it made more sense to create parking on the site
rather than create parking on the street, which is permissible. They would add a
total of 24 additional spaces on site, with a total of 174 spaces on this Plan.
Jonathan Furbush questioned entrances into the building. Kevin Kirrane said
there are loading dock doors at back, as well as small doors at back, in addition
to front entrance.
Kevin said the building is totally occupied.
Joe Cummings commented that he thinks they are doing the best they can. Joe
asked whether there are time limits on some of the parking spaces. Kevin said
the packaging entity is only open until 5 p.m. and spaces would be available after
those hours.
Mike Mendoza asked whether there would be sufficient handicap parking and
handicap van parking. Kevin said over the last few years Charlie did go there to
review and the handicap parking was addressed.
CONCLUSION: Jonathan Furbush motioned to approve the Plan as presented;
Joseph Cummings seconded the motion; and the motion was passed by Design
Review, with Mike Mendoza abstaining.
