Nichols <br /> Attendees: Members: Brian Mauro, Donald MacDonald, Barbara Nichols <br /> Guests: <br /> The minutes of the September 22, 2016 meeting were accepted with one date correction after a motion by <br /> Don MacDonald and second by Brian Mauro. <br /> Agenda Topics <br /> [Agenda topic 11 Lake level/River outflow <br /> Discussion: Barbara took the lake measurements on October l St and 15th. They were 55.0 and 55.1 ft., <br /> above sea level. There were S and 8.5 inches of water flowing over the board closest to the lake in the <br /> bshway. There were 6.5 and 5.5 inches of water in the stream by the stairs. Levels were emailed to Drew <br /> McManus in Conservation. <br /> Barbara noted 3.65 inches of rain in her rain gauge in October. <br /> Schools of small herring were seen leaving the lake on October 1St' <br /> Conclusions: The lake level is up very slightly with increased precipitation. <br /> [Agenda topic 2] Harbormaster News <br /> Discussion: AL Turner, Harbormaster sent us an "end of season"report. He noted the lake quieted down <br /> after Labor day and all swiun markers and other markers had been removed with the exception of one NO <br /> Wake and one shallow water marker in the narrows. He noted these would be removed after the last few <br /> bass tournaments and said someone from the office would be on staff during the tournaments in case of <br /> emergency. <br /> Barbara mentioned an article about Al Turner in The Enterprise on October 14, 2016. <br /> Al mentioned in the article that he loved his job, and related two instances this summer when he had <br /> found children swimming too far from shore without life jackets and he assisted them ashore and spoke to <br /> parents, educating them about safety precautions. <br /> Conclusions: Al Turner noted the boating season is nearly over with no major incidents. <br />
