3 Finance Committee Minutes July 21, 2016 NEW BUSINESS Vote to Recommend Finance Committee Candidate to the Town Moderator: At their July 21,2016 meeting,the Finance Committee interviewed three candidates for the open Finance Committee position. The candidates were Sylvester Ryan,Andrew McKelvey, and John Durant. It was agreed the Town was fortunate to have interesting candidates from a variety of backgrounds. In accordance with the mandates of the Town Charter,the Finance Committee makes a recommendation to the Town Moderator for appointment. After a brief review,the Finance Committee took the following action. Motion made by Mr.DelPonte to nominate and recommend to the Town Moderator the appointment of Sylvester Ryan to the open Finance Committee position. Motion seconded by Mrs. Cook. VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. Roll Call Vote: Mr. Avis,yes Mr. DelPonte,yes Mrs. Cook,yes Mr. Klenert,yes Mr. Pettengill,yes Opposed,none It was agreed the nomination and recommendation would be forwarded to Jeremy Carter,the Town Moderator through the Office of the Town Clerk. The remaining candidates would receive a letter of appreciation for their interest in serving on the Finance Committee. End of Year Transfers: Rodney C. Collins, Town Manager was in attendance to recommend the Finance Committee vote to approve(2) Year-End Transfers as follows; $10,200 from the Finance Committee Reserve Fund to the Human Resources Salary and the Board Secretary Salary Account to cover the unbudgeted reclassification of the Benefits Administrator and Human Resources Assistant position,the Human Resources Director Educational Incentive,the Acting Human Resources Director differential and for an unbudgeted increase in Board Secretary salaries. The present balance of this account is: -$10,107.09. The available Finance Committee Reserve Fund balance is $58,758.
