3 <br /> Finance Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> September 21, 2016 <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Final Review of Finance Committee Report for the October Town Meetin : (continued) <br /> Article#27—Arabic Road Donation of Land: <br /> Additional information relative to the acquisition of 46 Arabic Avenue,Mashpee was provided <br /> by the Assistant Town Manager. The 2.29 acre parcel is intended to be gifted to the Town of <br /> Mashpee by Susan E. Goodearl and Doris Sawler of Braintree, MA. The subject property lies <br /> within a well protection area and is located in the vicinity of two Town-owned properties. All <br /> three parcels are situated south of the Eversource power line easement which makes future road <br /> access problematic. The Mashpee Water District leases a nearby parcel for its Quaker Run water <br /> supply well and under zoning,the 46 Arabic Avenue lot lies within a Ground Water Protection <br /> District. <br /> Assistant Town Manager Wayne E. Taylor indicated the gift of land would be utilized as land <br /> reserved for open space under the Board of Selectmen's control for groundwater protection <br /> purposes. Collins,Town Manager further clarified the objective of the proposed by-law <br /> amendment regarding the use of Town floats at the Mashpee public access boat ramp. The <br /> article is intended to facilitate a timely process for safe boating operation by imposing a <br /> regulation to prohibit unattended tie-up, and to assess a fine for violators. The article in its <br /> present form was unanimously supported by the Mashpee Waterways Commission. <br />
