Committee Comments (continued) • Tom Fudala commented that the loading dock is in front of the building, which is not usual insofar as attractiveness of the building. Matt Eddy said they are overhead doors, not loading docks. Plan had them mislabeled. Joe Laham added that the only trucks will be if someone brings car on truck for drop-off. Catherine Laurent • Asked if they would consider granite curbing, rather than pre-cast curbing at the entrance. They said "yes" they would. • Catherine said wearing her"cemetery hat", she does have landscaping/parking concerns. She would not like to see additional parking at the Eastern property line side because noise/lights would be going into the cemetery. For that reason she would discourage parking there. Joe Laham said they use state-of-the-art operation. The German-made compressors they use don't make noise and because they put in a room that is filtered you don't hear any noise. He said they meet all noise/air quality requirements; and his intention is to be a good neighbor. Building is 220' from the cemetery; his business is open 7:30 or 8 a.m. until 5 or 6 p.m. He said he has never had a neighbor complain about his operation. Catherine said she would not want to see parking in that Easterly area because closest to the cemetery at that point. Glen Harrington • Glen said Matt Eddy and he had several conversations about the septic and the tight tank. Glen said in viewing the Floor Plan he thought there was a washer and a dryer. That was clarified. Washer would be tied into tight tank also because considered industrial discharge at commercial location. • Septic OK. • Make sure spray booth is constructed according to DEP and Town requirements. Discharges from spray booth are of concern and filter system required for that. Joe Laham said if it doesn't meet stringent requirements of Federal/State, then they won't use. Glen suggested he review the proposals prior to going to Board of Health board. • Glen noted that Board of Health has own set of requirements re hazardous waste and hazardous materials storage; and upkeep of storm areas so there is no retention of water. • Material safety data sheets are to be submitted. Mike Mendoza • Mike apologized on behalf of the Town for how some of the comments were presented. He said the Committee is here to help so that applicants wouldn't encounter any surprises as they proceeded. • Building is over 35,000 cubic feet so looking at controlled construction issues. • MDC traps not shown on Plan. • Providing color chips, etc would be helpful, • Venting system and screening information is helpful. • Design Review would comment on signage. No signage or lighting on Plan and that was discussed at Design Review meeting this morning. 3
