Minutes of Meeting of ,,-, _4 Mashpee Plan Review Committee Held Tuesday, October 4, 2016 Mashpee Town Hall Waquoit Meeting Room Plan Review Members Present: Michael Mendoza , Building Commissioner Tom Fudala, Town Planner Andrew McManus, Conservation Agent Glen Harrington, Health Agent Thomas Rullo, Fire Chief Also Present: Cally Harper– Cape Cod Commission Audience: Sam Houghton – Mashpee Enterprise Michael Mendoza called the meeting to order at 9:06 a.m. Barnstable County, Hazard Mitigation Discussion Cally Harper, Planner, Cape Cod Commission, stated 3 things were to be done at this meeting-•-- namely: (1) review survey; (2) review list of critical facilities; and (3) review list of land parcels that Cally compiled from Assessors and GIS records. Copies of these 3 documents were provided by Cally. S u rvey Cally said the template of survey she provided has been used by 9 Cape towns. She said most towns put the survey on their town website and some placed survey on their police/fire department Facebook page. She said some towns even enclosed the survey with water bill mailing. Cally recommended allowing about 3 weeks for people to participate in the survey. It can be placed on website via SurveyMonkey. At the August 2nd Plan Review hazard mitigation discussion, it was decided the Assistant Town Manager and IT director should be contacted by Cally to place the survey on the Town website. Cally will contact the Assistant Town Manager. It was also suggested to have the survey on the Town website for one month. Comments/Suggestions re SuDLey • Pg. 3—engaging the public—For local newspaper, list Mashpee Enterprise in addition to Cape Cod Times. Cally will do this. • "Other (please specify)" is listed under several of the questions. Place that line on "list of questions" at end of survey. Also, have "your opinion" portion there as well. Cally to do this. • Pg. 4—public view of steps to be taken—Add improve water control structures—such as culverts or anything that affects water bodies or levels. • Add to fist about reviewing critical access roadways relative to flooding. Cally said she will add "to conduct vulnerability assessment of low-lying critical roads".
