Mashpee Planning and Construction Committee <br /> Minutes of Meeting Held Thursday,November 21,2013 <br /> Town Hall Ockway Meeting Room <br /> Committee Members Present: Steve Cook,Irving Goldberg, Joe Brait, and Scott McGee(for David <br /> Bloomfield). <br /> Absent: David Bloomfield, and Eugene Smargon. <br /> Also Present: Catherine Laurent,DPW <br /> Nancy Soderberg–Historical Commission <br /> Frank Lord–Historical Commission <br /> Chairman Steve Cook called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. <br /> Approval of Minutes <br /> Joe Brait motioned to accept the minutes of the Meeting of June 27,2013 as written; Steve Cools <br /> seconded the motion. <br /> Vote: 2 Yes; I Abstain. <br /> Steve Cook,yes. Irving Goldberg, abstain. <br /> Joe Brait,yes. <br /> Old Business <br /> Update on Archives Project <br /> Catherine Laurent provided the update on the Archives project and budget: <br /> • Well under budget. DPW doing 80% of the work. <br /> • At this point the tentative completion date is for early May. <br /> • Bathroom addition funding is through the park project,which is a separate budget. <br /> Steve Cook said he reviewed the architectural plans and noted lighting fixtures to be selected. He brought <br /> in some lighting catalogs and also photos of some fixtures to review. Catherine said we need to select a <br /> few exterior fixtures, as well as hanging fixtures on the first floor public area. <br /> The Committee, Catherine,Nancy Soderberg, and Frank Lord reviewed the lighting fixtures in the <br /> various catalogs and photos. Frank Lord said Archives Building only needs simple, basic fixtures. Nancy <br /> Soderberg said it would be nice to use LED bulbs. It was agreed: <br /> • Archives building basement–standard fluorescent light—not changing. <br /> • The group narrowed the hanging-type fixture choice down to 3 and asked Catherine to get prices. <br /> • Catherine said Archives building rear exit door light at top of stairs should blend with whatever is <br /> used at the outside park. Also,may do floodlight at the door. Catherine will check into this to <br /> determine what will be needed. <br /> • Downstairs bathroom fluorescent light will not be changed. <br /> • For upstairs public bathroom,2 simple fixtures to be placed at each side of the mirror. <br />
