18 Board of Selectmen Minutes June 6, 2016 Meeting resumed: 8:15 p.m. NEW BUSINESS Certification and Confirmation of Assistant Town Manager: Rodney C. Collins, Town Manager respectfully requested the Board of Selectmen certify the process as outlined in his memorandum of June 2, 2016, and confirm the appointment of Wayne Taylor as Assistant Town Manager,and further, authorize the Town Manager to execute the Personal Services Agreement. Motion made by Selectman Sherman to certify the hiring process as outlined, and confirm the appointment of Wayne Taylor as Assistant Town Manager,and authorize the Town Manage to execute the Personal Services Agreement with Wayne Taylor as Assistant Town Manager. Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. Roll Call Vote: Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cahalane,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman Sherman,yes Opposed, none LIAISION REPORTS EDIC: Selectman Sherman requested some guidance from the Board as it relates to the EDIC and their review of the zoning bylaws. It was noted there is concern the bylaw may be too restrictive for businesses. It was recommended the EDIC begin the process by consulting the Town Planner and Planning Board and then develop a specific set of questions establish criteria, and goal setting. If there are deficiencies, actions should be taken to correct them. In attempting to solve this problem it was suggested that a list be developed to determine what factors may be preventing businesses from establishing in Mashpee. This would assist in the investigation and in the coordination process with applicable Town Departments.
