COUNCIL ON AGING MINUTES MEETING OCTOBER 11, 2017 Present: Council on Aging Members: David Egel, Irving Goldberg, .lean Noussee, Marijo Gorney, Virginia McIntyre, Council on Aging Director Lynne Waterman and Outreach Coordinator Darlene Perkins. Absent: Norah McCormick, Mary Gaffney Chairman David Egel opened the meeting at 8:35 a.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES —September 13, 2017 Motion: .lean Noussee moved to approve the minutes of September 13, 2017, seconded by Irving Goldberg. Vote 5-0 Public Comments COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE DIRECTOR'S REPORT Director Lynne Waterman distributed her report for the month of September. The Director highlighted she met with several leaders of various ongoing activities. The Director and the Outreach Coordinator contacted performers and were also contacted by performers who want to apply for a Mashpee Cultural Council grant with the Senior Center as their venue. The Director and Administrative Secretary planned with the local AARP Coordinator•for the upcoming tax preparation season which begins in February. An activity survey was distributed to participants of our programs and is using their feedback to plan for future programs. She thanked the management and Board of§ea Mist Resort who again approved the senior swim program which will resume in September. The Director reported new tires were put on the van as well as additional maintenance on the vehicle. The new driver continued his training and he distributed information about our transportation service to several physician offices in the area in order to promote ridership. The two drivers, the Director and the Outreach Coordinator met for their annual monthly meeting. The Director thank DPW staff for the several repairs they made including replacing the carpet in the entryway. The Director noted the Mature Worker receptionist is on leave until November.
