Chairman, Jonathan D. Furbush, Board Members William A. Blaisdell, Ronald <br />Bonvie, Dom DeBarros, Scott Goldstein, and Associate Members, Brad Pittsley and <br />Norman J. Gould were present. Building Commissioner, Michael Mendoza was also <br />present. <br />Chairman Furbush opened the meeting at 6:00 pm and announced that the meeting is being <br />televised live on Mashpee TV. <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />CONTINUED HEARINGS <br />18 Shorewood Drive: Owner, John F. Gillis, Jr., requests a Written Finding under § 174- <br />17 of the Zoning Bylaws to raze and replace a single-family dwelling on property located <br />in an R-5 Zoning District, Map 58 Parcel 34, Mashpee, MA. (Continued from January <br />25, 2017 hearings). <br />18 Shorewood Drive: Owner, John F. Gillis, Jr., requests a Variance under §174-31 of the <br />Zoning Bylaws for setbacks and lot coverage requirements, and a Variance under §174-33 <br />for setbacks from water and wetlands, to raze and replace a single-family dwelling on . <br />property located in an R-5 Zoning District, Map 58 Parcel 34, Mashpee, MA. (Continuer) <br />from January 25, 2017 hearings). <br />Mr. John Gillis represented himself for his raze and replace project. He provided the Board <br />with revised plans based on the Board's recommendations from the previous hearing. The <br />revised plot plan depicts a 10,500 sq. ft. lot. The new house will have a 46 ft. front setback, <br />the rear setback will be 44 ft., the right side setback will be 15 ft., and the left side setback <br />will be 13 ft. It will be a two story house with the minimum lot coverage at 17.2%. <br />Mr. Gillis said that at the previous meeting, he was told by Chairman Furbush that the 13 <br />ft. on the left side setback was pre-existing, non -conforming. Mr. Gillis believes that he <br />has met all the criteria for the setbacks. He received comments from the Board of Health, <br />DPW, and Conservation who expressed their requirements. He also provided two abutter <br />letters that were in favor of his project. He mentioned he is removing the platform from the <br />left side of the deck, and that the stairs have been removed and will not be connected to the <br />house. <br />1 <br />
