MASHPEE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS <br />MEETING MINUTES <br />JULY 26, 2017 <br />The Board had a conversation regarding the setbacks of the existing structure being 20.7 <br />ft., and moving it to 15 ft. The Chairman said he was concerned with setting a precedent. <br />Mr. Gould said that he respects the Chairman's concerns and knows he's trying to protect <br />the integrity of the Board. <br />Building Commissioner asked the Attorney if the deck was cantilevered. He didn't see the <br />support columns on the plan but wanted to confirm the location of the deck extension. He <br />said that if the deck is designed/engineered correctly it would not make a difference on the <br />depth of the deck. Mr. Mendoza said that the structure could have the post moved back 3 <br />feet so that 3 feet of the deck would be cantilevered. <br />Mr. Bonvic read the Inspection Department, and Board of Health comments into the record. <br />Mr. Blaisdell read the Conservation comments into the record. <br />Mr. Bonvie made a motion to issue a Written Finding to the applicants. Conditioned upon <br />the site and floor plans read into the record. Also conditioned upon the footing and supports <br />of the rear deck closest to the creek as depicted on the plan will be moved 3 ft. further away <br />from the creek thus creating a 3 ft. overhang of the deck, and will have to satisfy the Town <br />Building Inspector of the structural integrity of the deck at the time of the building <br />application. The footings will be 18.4 from the resource area. <br />Mr. Gould second, in favor, Mr. DeBarros, in favor, Mr. Bonvie in favor, Mr. Blaisdell in <br />favor and Mr. Furbush in favor. All were in favor of the specific conditions given to the <br />applicant. <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br />-Approve July 12, 2417 Meeting Minutes <br />Mr. Gould made a motion to approve the meeting minutes. All were in favor. <br />Mr. DeBarros made a motion to adjourn. All were in favor.
