Town of Mashpee <br />16 Great Neck Road North <br />Mashpee, Massachusetts 02649 <br />SOUTH CAPE BEACH STATE PARK <br />ADVISORY COMMITTEE - PUBLIC SESSION <br />South Cape Beach State Park -- Overlook Deck <br />Committee Members Present: <br />Jeralyn Smith,Chairman <br />Perry Ellis, Clerk <br />Don Clarke <br />Joe Bohnenberger <br />Robert Lancaster <br />Lewis Newell <br />Robert Palmer <br />Janet Souza <br />Michael Sweatman <br />Bill Martiros <br />Tuesday,September 13, 2016 <br />Also Present: <br />John Singleton,WBNERR Rep. <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Chairman Jeralyn Smith called the meeting to order at 5:00 PM. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Robert Lancaster made a motion that the minutes from the June 21, 2016 be approved as presented. <br />Perry Ellis seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved. <br />WBNERR END -OF SEASON REPORT — John Singletpon <br />1. There were just two lifeguards this season but fortunately there were no incidents to report. John <br />Singleton stated that he worked 40 days this season. <br />2. "Pay and Display" machine was installed at the gate. Anything bought at the gate can now be <br />purchased via the Pay and Display system. <br />3. The big news this season: $7000 in parking fees was collected from the Bayberry, parking lot. The <br />charge for regular parking was $14.00, same as last year, with in-state cars $12.00. $84,00 was <br />collected altogether in parking fees. <br />4. Altogether it was an uneventful summer season: dry, hot and lots of traffic. <br />5. No word regarding the work on Wills Work Road. <br />6. John Singleton's "Wish List" includes a ticket booth; a York rake machine with a tractor for use in <br />cleaning the beach of seaweed and debris each day; the handicap ramp is in need of repair; handrails <br />installed for the boardwalk; additional changing booths are needed; a second wheelchair is also needed. <br />7. Adrian Dandovi has been appointed as the new manager, as Jim Rassman has been transferred to a <br />new position at WBNERR. <br />NEXT MEETING <br />The next meeting will be scheduled for a date in May, 2017, preferably before Memorial Day, date TBD <br />
