Street Light Committee <br />November 1, 2016 <br />Minutes <br />Members Present: Scott Carline, Chris Avis, Catherine Laurent <br />A quorum being present, the meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm. <br />The minutes of the March 15, 2015 meeting were approved. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Reguest for Acceptance of Private Street Light — Route 28 Polaris Drive <br />There is an existing street light at the intersection of Route 28 and Polaris Drive, the <br />entrance to the Holland Mill neighborhood. The association currently pays for the light <br />but has requested that the Town take it over. The Committee voted unanimously to <br />accept the light. It is owned by Eversource and the fixture is HPS. Ms. Laurent will <br />investigate purchasing the light and converting it to LED. <br />Request for Installation of Street Light — South Sandwich Road Candlewood Drive <br />Ms. Laurent received a request from the property owner on Candiewood Drive for <br />installation of a street light at the intersection with South Sandwich Road. That section <br />of South Sandwich Road is currently not lighted and the intersection is located on a <br />curve. The Committee voted unanimously to approve installation of a light. <br />FY18 Budget <br />The FY1S budget amount submitted is unchanged from FY17. As discussed previously, <br />the budget request is now distributed among three line items - $15,000 for Street Light <br />Energy to pay invoices for electricity and maintenance; $5,000 for Rotary Lighting <br />Expense to pay for electricity used for the flagpole and holiday lights in the Mashpee <br />Rotary; and $8,000 for New Street Light Fees to pay for installation of new street lights. <br />The average cost for a new street light is approximate $1070. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Invoicing for Private Street Lights <br />The Board of Selectmen voted not to assess private roads/neighborhoods for the cost <br />incurred by the Town for street lights on their roads. <br />The meeting adjourned at 6:15 pm. <br />Respectively submitted, <br />Catherine Laurer�t <br />
