dates for this year would be decided and brought to the attention of everyone by May
15{".
Sewer: nothing new to report except that the next meeting was scheduled for this week,
Brief discussions included the Watershed permit that the towns of Mashpee, Sandwich
and Barnstable were pursuing. This would be the first of its kind type of permit in this
effort to identify the nutrient allocation processes in the Popponesset Bay watershed
area.
Barnstable County CRC: nothing new to report
Public Access: We are still awaiting the results of the renewed filing process for
improvements to the Great River boat ramp project.
Waterways Improvement Plan and Dredging: Ken mentioned delays were caused
with the Towns Comprehensive Permit effort because of the change in location of the
Great River/Little River dredge sediment disposal site. The town and WBNERR were
working together to put all concerns to rest. He felt confident that this would be a short
delay. Mr. Bates also shared his concerns for the delays in accomplishing the
Popponesset Approach Channel dredge and getting it accomplished before time ran
out. The wind has been horrific the entire month of March so the County Dredge Team
was behind schedule. He said we have already been offered one extension due to the
foul weather but he was concerned that more time would is needed. There have been
two Plover bird nests sighted, but no eggs as of yet. Ken said he would be contacting
the ACOS soon to request another extension in time to allow the much needed
maintenance dredge to be accomplished. As of this writing Ken had not heard back
from the COE but would continue to follow closely.
New Business: None:
A motion to adjourn at 10:25 was made by Stan Healy, 2nd by At Wickel. The vote was
unanimous.
The next scheduled meeting is May 10th, 2016 at 9:00 AM in the Popponesset Room.
Ken Bates - Chairman
Don MacDonald - Vice Chairman
At Wickel - Secretary
Tim Leedham
Bill Taylor
Don Barton
Stan Healy
w4
