DMF will be testing shellfish here. <br />Committee Reports <br />Mashpee Lakes - Wakeby and John Ponds discussions - no report <br />Popponesset Bay Area - Harbormaster reported no unusual activity <br />Waquoit Bay Area - Harbormaster reported no unusual activity <br />Water Quality Update/ Water Samplir�� - Brian Howes presented 2015 findings to Town leaders. The <br />report showed no improvement nor degradation in the water quality. Copies of the slides in Brian"s <br />report can obtained from Don MacDonald, who headed up the sampling team. The tremendous work <br />of Brian, Don, as well as all of the volunteers who perform the testing, is greatly appreciated. <br />Barnstable CountY_Coastal Resources „Committee Update - no report <br />Sewer Committee Update - no report <br />Public Access Update- Catherine provided information on ramp developments. At Pirate Cove the <br />project was awarded to Beacon Marine. Aluminum components are being manufactured locally. <br />The Great River ramp configuration was approved from a single to a double ramp. The project will go <br />out to bid next month with the RFB on Nov. 2, Nov 18 deadline for bids, an award by selectman on Nov. <br />28th. Catherine estimated completion of work by the end of April 2017. Catherine asked that signage <br />for the new ramp be reviewed/established by the Waterways Commission and submitted to her with <br />appropriate lead time to allow for fabrication. The cost of signage has been included in her budget. <br />Waterways Improvement Plan and Dredging. Ken provided his report. The dredging projects for the <br />1916 channel in Popponesset Bay will begin in October. More specifically, the work should be underway <br />on the 18/19 of October and will be a 3-4day dredge with weather permitting. The Popponesset <br />Approach channel dredge is scheduled for a Feb/March 2017 timeframe. The Articles are in the October <br />Town Meeting warrant with the dollars for transfer to dredge. <br />A new milestone was realized for the town when Ken Bates announced the Comprehensive Permit <br />documentation was approved and electronically received on September 22nd. The approved permit will <br />simplify the process of maintaining our waterways and will reduce our engineering expenses. <br />Congratulation were extended to Ken for his singular efforts to attain this goal and objective. The <br />application was filed by BSC, our consultants, in 2013. A 3 year process of approval. <br />In addition, Ken noted that approval had also been received to allow designation of the Deadneck <br />location as an approved sediment site for dredging in Waquoit Bay. <br />There being no further business, a motion was made for adjournment by Tim Leedham and seconded by <br />Bill Taylor.
