5 <br /> • Invited experts to LHC Meetings <br /> • Reviewed Town owned parcels for possible affordable housing <br /> • Developed Mission Statement and Charge of Duties <br /> • Developed Guidelines and Criteria for Review of Affordable Housing Developments <br /> • Researched Inclusionary Zoning and impact fees <br /> • Concluded that the Town of Sandwich needs a long term revenue stream to fiord <br /> affordable housing <br /> • Toured Coast Guard Housing on MMR for possible relocation <br /> • Applied for a (Tehnical Assistance Program)TAP grant through the Cape Cod <br /> Commission for studying the engineering and financial feasibility of relocating Coast <br /> Guard housing units <br /> • Continue researching donation of land/buildings for possible tax relief <br /> • Develop planned giving program for housing <br /> • Use 2000 census to identify current needs and existing supply to identify"target <br /> populations" <br /> • Research privately owned parcel's of land for possible fixture affordable housing <br /> development <br /> • Continue to keep the Selectmen and the citizens informed and updated on the housing <br /> crisis <br /> • Assist in developing Requests for Proposals(RFP's)for the development of existing <br /> town owned parcels already dedicated by Town Meeting for affordable housing <br /> • Work to ensure that Town Meeting and the Town vote to adopt the Community <br /> Preservation Act as our source for financing the purchase of land and/or buildings, the <br /> construction of new units of housing and the modernization of housing purchased by the <br /> town. <br /> • Cooperate and network with all town boards and committees for our common goals <br /> • Work with the Planning Board to amend the Assessory Dwelling Zoning Bylaw to permit <br /> an accessory residential use to a commercial use <br /> • Identify scattered site residential housing opportunities for acquisition with fimds <br /> provided through revenue stream and grants <br /> • Sandwich is in desperate need of one, two and three bedroom rental units. Our rental <br /> housing stock as a percentage of total dwellings was 16.3 percent according to the 1990 <br /> census. We expect that the rental stock has diminished over the last decade and might <br /> represent approximately 10 percent in the year 2000. <br />
