Affordable Housing Committee Minutes of Meeting Held Tuesday, June 5, 2001 Mashpee Town Hall — Meeting Room 1 Present; J. Cahalane, Z. Elizenberry, L. Botsford, L. Williams, L. Patrick, J. Regan, M. Meijering, A. Weinstein. Absent: G. Marshall, R. Sherman, M. LeClair,. A quorum being present, Leila Botsford, Chairperson, called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Jamie Regan motioned to accept the minutes of the February 6, 2001 meeting; this was seconded by Zella Elizenberry; and unanimously approved. MISSION STATEMENT Following detailed discussion, a consensus was arrived at to consider using the following wording as the Committee's Mission Statement: "To enhance the Town of Mashpee, Massachusetts and the quality of life of its residents by promoting diversity of housing inventory and undertaking the acquisition, rehabilitation, and development of affordable housing." Jamie Regan motioned that the Committee accept this wording for the Mission Statement; this was seconded by Zella Elizenberry; and unanimously approved. ACTION ITEMS Louise Patrick... + To contact Town Counsel to determine what mechanism is available to ensure 40B proposals go through Affordable Housing Committee initially. Can Town Counsel assist us in getting this accomplished? • Also, Louise to ask if Town Counsel could/should assist in set-up of 501(c)(3) non- profit entity if this Committee should take that approach. • To follow-up on her call to Falmouth Housing to find out what they brought to their Board of Selectmen.
