Affordable Housing Committee <br />Minutes of Meeting Held Tuesday, June 5, 2001 <br />Mashpee Town Hall — Meeting Room 1 <br />Present; J. Cahalane, Z. Elizenberry, L. Botsford, L. Williams, L. Patrick, J. Regan, M. <br />Meijering, A. Weinstein. <br />Absent: G. Marshall, R. Sherman, M. LeClair,. <br />A quorum being present, Leila Botsford, Chairperson, called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Jamie Regan motioned to accept the minutes of the February 6, 2001 meeting; this was seconded <br />by Zella Elizenberry; and unanimously approved. <br />MISSION STATEMENT <br />Following detailed discussion, a consensus was arrived at to consider using the following <br />wording as the Committee's Mission Statement: <br />"To enhance the Town of Mashpee, Massachusetts and the quality of life of its residents <br />by promoting diversity of housing inventory and undertaking the acquisition, <br />rehabilitation, and development of affordable housing." <br />Jamie Regan motioned that the Committee accept this wording for the Mission Statement; this <br />was seconded by Zella Elizenberry; and unanimously approved. <br />ACTION ITEMS <br />Louise Patrick... <br />+ To contact Town Counsel to determine what mechanism is available to ensure 40B <br />proposals go through Affordable Housing Committee initially. Can Town Counsel <br />assist us in getting this accomplished? <br />• Also, Louise to ask if Town Counsel could/should assist in set-up of 501(c)(3) non- <br />profit entity if this Committee should take that approach. <br />• To follow-up on her call to Falmouth Housing to find out what they brought to their <br />Board of Selectmen. <br />
