MAY 2000 -ANNUALTOWN MEETING <br /> ,A1M c•C3ri�A n see if the Town will vote to amend the <br /> — — <br /> Code o(the Town of Mashpce to create the following new <br /> Article XVI in Chapter 5 "Boards, Commissions, Committees :; <br /> and Agencies": <br /> "ARTICLE XVI <br /> Affordable Housing Committee <br /> § 5-62. Appointment; Membership. <br /> The Affordable Housing Committee shall consist of eleven <br /> members from the following groups: <br /> a mamba from each of the Board of Selectmen, Planning <br /> Board, Zoning Board of Appeals,Council on Aging, Mashpec <br /> Housing.Authority and Mashpce Wampanoag Tribal Council, <br /> Inc., to be.designated by each board/agency respectively, <br /> one member each representing 1) the real estate development <br /> industry, 2) a housing advocacy group, 3) minorities, 4) <br /> persons with special needs and 5) an environmental <br /> protection agency or advocacy group, to be appointed by the <br /> Board of SeIcctmen. <br /> § 5-63. Tam;-Vacancies. <br /> Members designated by a board/agency shall serve until a <br /> replacement is designated by said board/agency. With respect <br /> to elected or appointed officials whose tum of office has <br /> expired, the board/agency shall designate a new membu <br /> within thirty days of the expiration of the term of office of <br /> said official. <br /> Terms of the five members appointed by the Board of <br /> Selectmen shall expire annually on June 30. Vacancies shall <br /> be filled for any unexpired term in the same manner as in the <br /> case oforiginal appointments. <br /> § 5-64. Organization; Meetings. <br /> The Committee shall elect annually a Chairman, Vice <br /> Chairman and Clerk. Said election shall take place at its first <br /> meeting after July I of each year. <br />
