MASHPEE AFFORDABLE HOUSING COMMITTEE <br />Minutes <br />March 9, 2004 <br />Present: J. Marino, J. Cahalane, Z. Elizenberry, A. Lopez, E. Smith <br />I. Meeting was called to order at 7:00pan <br />Il. Approval of meeting minutes: <br />The Committee voted 4 to 0 to approve the meeting minutes from December 2003, <br />February 3, 2004 and the February 10, 2004 meetings. <br />Ill. New Business: <br />a. Before the new business officially started Alice introduced Deb'orah Battles, an <br />interested resident who is running for the Mashpee Housing Authority, Ms. <br />Battles also is interested in joining the Affordable Housing Committee. <br />b. Status of Housing Consultant's Work on Needs Assessment/Action Plan and <br />scheduling of date/time/place for public meeting in May: <br />Eric gave an update on the consultant's status. A Draft Needs Assessment is <br />expected the week of March 22°d. It would be mailed out to Committee members <br />the following week, and the consultant would then come to our next meeting. <br />The Committee discussed the date, time and location of this public meeting. Eric <br />is to ask the consultant if they would be able to attend on a Saturday afternoon, as <br />this day/time would allow families to attend. Eric will ask Dick Terry to see who <br />had produced and donated printing of the poster that was created for the Mashpee <br />Affordable Housing Committee's Dinner and Conference in November 2002. A <br />subcommittee should be put together in order to help plan for this event. <br />Status of Affordable Housing Committee membership: <br />Eric reported that an ad was run in the .N.tashpee Enterprise on February 131h with <br />the deadline for responses being February 27th. No responses were received. The <br />ad is still being run cable and has been posted on the lobby level of Town Hall. <br />d. New Member Packet: <br />Eric handed out a draft "New Member Packet" to Committee members. The <br />Committee said it should be user -friendlier and recommended making use of <br />bullets to highlight the important points and have larger font. <br />e. Eric reported on the revised "Density of Chapter 40B Projects" report as well as <br />the updated "Active and Potential Chapter 40B projects" spreadsheet with the <br />Committee. <br />f. Eric noted that the Mashpee Housing Authority was notified that they did not <br />received grant funding for the 56 -unit senior housing project on Asher's Path. <br />
