c. Mashpee Commons 40B,
Many concerns were raised about the size and density of the proposed plan at Mashpec
Commons. Eric reports that it's his understanding that under 40B regs, 250 units is the
limit.
The committee agrees that the project should not exceed 250 units and that 25% of all
types of units be designated affordable.
Concerns were raised that a letter of endorsement regarding the Mashpee Commons 40B
was written by the chair of the Board of Selectmen to Mass Housing. The letter was
written independently.
Some AHC members expressed disappointment that this action was taken. The
Committee generally agreed it is cognizant that in the future, in order to work
collaboratively with municipal government, 40B proposals should follow a specific
protocol in gaining approval from various town boards and committees.
d. Zella recommended that Deb'orah Battles be appointed as a member of the AHC. As
there was not a quorum, the committee was unable to vote on the matter.
g. Other New Business
Eric reported that the Town now has $160,000 in mitigation money from the Sconsett
Village Project.
All other agenda items were tabled until the next meeting.
Next Meeting: May 4
Meeting adjourned at 9:15pm
Respectfully submitted
Louise Patrick, Recording Secretary
