Status on Mashpee Affordable Housing Trust duplex: This is stalled and not
going anywhere. Leila Botsford wrote to Stu Bornstein to move ahead on this.
There seems to be a lack of money, expertise and commitment.
Annual Election of Officers: Motion made by John C. to retain the current
officers, Alice L. seconded. Unanimous.
Other: Eric S. distributed criteria on affordable housing from Towns of Dennis
and Sandwich and guidelines from the State for the Affordable Housing Plan.
Eric cited page 2, Section 3. Description of Use Restrictions, for the Committee
to review.
Budget deadline is December 10th for submission of travel vouchers,
subscriptions, conferences, etc. We will work on a preliminary budget for
outreach, flyers, posters, and education at the next meeting, perhaps a $1,000
line item to cover these costs. Deborah B. talked about a marketing approach
and follow up on the survey. She wants to become more involved in the lottery
process. Need to get a letter to ZBA to request to be on their mailing/distribution
list.
Eric solicited comments on the Housing Assistance Corp. handout re: revitalizing
La Plaza del Sol into affordable apartments. They are seeking concept approval
from the committee in a letter format. The Committee wants to see concrete
plans first. Zella will follow this up with a letter.
Deborah suggested developing 10 to 12 questions to ask each presenter. She
will start the process and email everyone.
There are currently two vacancies on the Committee. Julius Rosales was in
attendance to be considered for one of these vacancies. He learned about the
vacancies from the survey.
Minutes of June 1, 2004, July 6, 2004, September 7, 2004 and October 14, 2004
were moved by Jamie, seconded by Deborah, and approved unanimously.
NEXT MEETING: DECEMBER 7, 2004.
Meeting adjourned 9:15 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Mary Gelsthorpe, Recording Secretary
