4 <br />Capital Improvement Program Committee <br />Minutes <br />February 10, 2015 <br />Review & Deliberation on Proiects rosed for Ma --_y 2015 Town Meeting; <br />COUNCIL ON AGING: <br />The Council on Aging Department requested consideration to lease/purchase a <br />10 -passenger Transit Van in fiscal year 2017. The capital request was deferred to <br />FY2017 planning. <br />PLANNING & CONSTRUCTION: <br />It was agreed that annual CIP funding would be earmarked for the replacement of <br />flooring at the Middle/High School. The cost is $50,000 to replace flooring <br />installed in 1996 to complete 4 to 5 classrooms for safety purposes. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT: <br />Upon review of the capital funding request of the Fire Department, the CIP agreed <br />to fund the following equipment for safety, and to bring the department to <br />standard; Breathing Apparatus in the amount $60,000 and Safety Equipment <br />$61,000. A total of $121,000 was assigned in capital funding for fiscal year 2016. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT: <br />To continue the lease purchase of Police Vehicles referenced as Year 3 of 3, the <br />pickup truck for the Harbormaster $11,500, Year 2 of 3 the pickup track for the <br />Shellfish Constable $11,500 and Year 2 of 3, the lease program for (10) line <br />vehicles $132,000. The sum of $155,000 was earmarked to fund the Police <br />Department Vehicle Replacement Program. <br />Additionally, four vehicles are proposed for replacement in Year 1 of a 3 -Year <br />lease program; $60,400 to replace a 2007 vehicle used by administration, and (3) <br />unmarked detective vehicles. <br />It was recommended the CIP consider moving the proposed administrative <br />vehicle lease program to FY2017 as the condition of the vehicle is deemed <br />satisfactory. With the CIF's approval the sum of $15,100 would be removed from <br />the departmental request in FY2016 to bring forth a revised cost estimate of <br />$45,300 for the lease of 3 vehicles. <br />
