annual evaluation for the Principal Clerk. She noted she participated in a focus group <br />sponsored by the Department of Labor on older women workers and their challenges. <br />She also met with several property tax work off candidates. She said that she, the <br />Outreach Coordinator and the Principal Clerk updated the newsletter mailing process and <br />the Mature Worker completed the annual update of the entire mailing list. <br />The Director stated her goals were to write the formula grant, begin office files annual <br />clean out and continue update of the shared computer drive. <br />Motion: Jack Jordan moved to accept the Treasurer's Director's Report, seconded <br />by Jean Noussee. Vote unanimous 6-0 <br />TREASURER'S REPORT <br />The Director reported there was no printed report but the year end report will be <br />distributed at their next meeting. <br />OUTREACH COORDINATOR REPORT <br />Darlene Perkins distributed her report for the month of June. The Outreach Coordinator <br />reported she interviewed volunteers who are interested in working with residents. She <br />also reported she attended the Aging with Dignity Conference which focused on aging <br />and addiction. The Keynote speaker Jeffery Samet, MD, did a great job presenting the <br />last 20 years of research on addiction and how it affects us as we age. Barbara Koffske <br />presented information on nutrition and how our needs differ as we age. The speakers and <br />the workshops gave an understanding as to how our needs differ as we age and helped <br />give an understanding to how both medications and support groups can work together to <br />help with sobriety and sustaining the sobriety. The Outreach Coordinator is also <br />participating in the selection process of the nutrition providers for Elder Services Meals <br />on Wheels and congregate dining. <br />The Coordinator noted two home visits were made this month and numerous client <br />contacts by telephone and visits in the office. Her home visits included meeting with <br />Mashpee residents reviewing policies and procedures for the use of our van and volunteer <br />transportation. Her office visits included working with many of the residents of 55 plus <br />communities who are starting to age and are in need of services to help them stay in the <br />community. She noted many of our fragile elders who have middle income are in need <br />of a variety of services but cannot afford to pay for the amount of services they need to <br />stay safe in their homes. She said most seniors need help with medical treatment, support <br />and transportation. <br />The Outreach Coordinator said the Brown Bag program served twenty eight people this <br />month and thanked the five volunteers helped with this program. The Coordinator <br />reported she meets monthly with volunteers and 5 Mashpee residents turned 90 plus and <br />received flowers delivered by a volunteer. She is in the process of training a new <br />volunteer to help with Fuel Assistance and the Benefits Checkup. A new SHINE <br />
