COOMBS SCHOOL <br />SCHOOL COUNCIL <br />TUESDAY, MARCH 31, 2015 <br />3:00 F.M. - MAIN OFFICE CONFERENCE ROOM <br />MEETING MINUTES <br />In attendance: Wendy Lithwin, Eileen Manganella, Matt Auger, Jennifer Christian, <br />Hope Hanscom, Tonna-Marie Rogers, Pat Campbell, Ryan Bray <br />• Approval of February minutes <br />• Mrs. Lithwin accepted the resignation of Pat Campbell <br />• School Mission Statement <br />+3 Mrs. Lithwin added some additional wording regarding the future of our <br />children. <br />•3 Mrs. Hanscom spoke about cooperation being added to the Mission <br />Statement as part of an important skill our children need. <br />+.* Change of wording to the first sentence to read "Our mission is-" - <br />instead of strives. <br />❖ Discussion ensued regarding the "Mission Statement" and wording - the <br />Council agreed to change wording on drafted statement <br />❖ The following Mission Statement was approved unanimously -- <br />"Our mission is to provide a high quality, individualized, foundational education to <br />equip students with skills and knowledge for the future. This goal shall be achieved <br />through a partnership of educators, families, and the community that values <br />cooperation, diversity, and creativity in a child centered, inclusive learning <br />environment." <br />• Facebook page <br />❖ Jen Christian reported that the page has been reserved. <br />❖ A 155 character description of the school is needed. However, a brief <br />statement and address can be posted. <br />•S Discussion of information and photos to share. <br />❖ Social media discussion of Facebook and Twitter. Mrs. Lithwin would <br />prefer to have only a Facebook page at this time. <br />•2• Facebook page should be ready by April 15th. <br />• Class configuration <br />•Z• Mrs. Lithwin stated that at this time there are 46 regular education slots <br />and 24 special education slots in Preschool. <br />
