Adopting educational goals for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide student performance standards 2. Identifying the educational needs of students attending the school 3. Reviewing the annual school building budget 4. Approved 4113115 Council Meeting Minutes 2. SY15-16 School Improvement Plan (SIP)—Our final SIP was distributed and reviewed. 3. SY15-16 Parent -Student Handbook—Proposed changes for the Quashnet School 15-16 Parent -Student Handbook were reviewed. These changes will be presented at the July 8, 2015, School Committee meeting. 4. "Falcon Families" Mentoring Program—Planning/Action Steps: We decided to remove the mentoring aspect of our "Falcon Families" project. We'd like to plan a late summer welcoming event to promote connections (possibly district -wide). Our goal is to promote new family friendships and to focus on commonalities. The event would include a meal, an icebreaker activity, games/babysitting for the children, and a guest speaker to discuss a topic that would interest all. Maybe we could create a district -wide parent council to plan family events tied to building connections and to learning strategies that will help parents better navigate the journey of raising their children. 5.
