Ken noted the minutes do not
reflect Bill Taylor was "Absent" at the January 13, 2015 meeting
Harbormaster Report: Steve reported that many moorings and aids to navigation had
been moved out of position by winter storms. It will be a challenge to get moorings and
aids to navigation correctly re-positioned given the harbormaster budget ($15,000).
Steve stated a budget of$25,000 is necessary to do the on-going maintenance
required.
There was discussion of piling designs which would minimize pilings heaving. Steve
requested that a prototype of the dock proposed for the Great River Boat Ramp be
available for evaluation before a the DPW issues a purchase order for materials.
Shellfish Constable Report: Rick reported "no activity" as everything is frozen over
Water Quality: Steve Pinard to deliver documentation to Don the third week of March.
As Don will be away Steve will deliver the materials to Ken..
Public Access: Maintenance on parking lot at Great River being delayed because of
weather. Discussions took place about timely completion of Great River Boat Ramp
project because of adverse weather. Additional considerations discussed included
whether the ramp should be a double ramp capable of launching and recovering boats
at the same time.
Don suggested the Waterways Commission recommend to the Town Manager, BOS
and Catherine Laurent that Great River Boat Ramp project construction work be put on
"hold". The reason for the recommendation is the belief that existing resources will be
needed to clear the waterways of debris (destroyed docks, ramps and moorings)
