Executive Search Firm Discussion
The Committee discussed using an executive search firm versus Committee/HR doing the
screening. Points addressed included the following: Important to have professionals to handle
searching process; and are there any governmental agencies that would offer search services to
Town. The consensus was reached by the Committee to contact 3 executive search firms to have
them attend March 3'd meeting of this Committee for the firms to give a brief rundown of search
services provided and fee charged for such services.
Also,Kathleen Moore is to do following action items:
• Look into MMA and UMASS search system.
• Talk with towns currently looking for Manager and get their feedback.
• Check next publication date of The Beacon, and fee charged to post.
• Look at current job description and a couple of other Cape-based postings.
Meeting Schedule
Next Meeting: 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday,March 3,2015 in Ockway Meeting Room at Town Hall.
Since the Charter requires that 90 days from this Committee organizational meeting the
Committee is to submit not less than 3 nor more than 5 nominees to the Board of Selectmen, the
Screening Committee agreed they will probably have to meet Tuesday and Wednesday of each
week in order to meet the imposed 90-day deadline.
Adiournment ... Jerry Carter motioned to adjourn the meeting; Carol Sherman seconded the
motion;and it unanimously passed. The meeting adjourned at 5:25 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
le n Giliberti
ecording Secretary
2
