TOWN MANAGER SCREENING COMMITTEE MEETING TUESDAY,MARCH 31,2015 WAQUOIT MEETING ROOM Present: Chris Avis, Jerry Carter,Andrew Gottlieb, Kathleen Moore, and Carol Sherman. Also Present: Mary Aicardi—Collins Center Chairman Andrew Gottlieb called the meeting to order at 6:31 p.m. Andrew stated that the main object tonight is to talk with the consultant on the process and getting started. The profile was received and sent around for comments. Based on advice of Town Counsel that the profile should be approved by the Board of Selectmen,Andrew submitted to the Selectmen for approval at their meeting last night. Chris Avis commented that perhaps it would have been better for this Committee to vote before sending the profile to Selectmen. Andrew said that is fair,he was just trying to get the process moving. Chris said he understood and was just mentioning so as to have better communication moving forward. Approval of Minutes Jerry Carter motioned to accept the minutes of the March 9,2015 Meeting; Carol Sherman seconded the motion. VOTE: Yes-5. Roll Call Vote: Andrew Gottlieb,yes Jerry Carter,yes Carol Sherman,yes Chris Avis,yes Kathleen Moore,yes Review Ads,• Timeline; and Schedule Mary Aicardi joined the meeting. She said that finalizing the profile is half the battle. She said she will get it to the printer and have formal"glossy"advertised by the end of the week. However,the live Ad will be posted on ICMA tomorrow(April I"). Mary suggested waiting for final glossy to post on Town Website. All Ads, including Town Website,will refer applicants to electronically forward resume to Collins Center via link provided. Response deadline date for all Ads to be April 23,2015. The final gllossy will contain photos of Mashpee in the profile. The Committee suggested the pictures include Mashpee beach;Mashpee Commons; Mashpee River;and Mashpee Community Park. Andrew and Kathleen will contact Joyce Mason to request photos to be forwarded to Mary Aicardi. In explaining the screening process and meeting the 90-day deadline set by the Mashpee Charter, the following points and timetable were discussed. Process Interviews conducted in Executive Session. • Potential finalists asked to sign a release. • Background checks take about 10 days. • Choosing names of finalists to be done in Public Session. This could be done at joint meeting with Board of Selectmen. • All resumes received are given to the Screening Committee, along with a summary. Collins Center recommends reviewing all resumes together, not doing piecemeal. 0 Don't rank during review of resume,rather indicate"yes, no, or maybe for interview".
