I <br /> MASHPEE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT COMMITTEE MINUTES <br /> MARCH 10, 2011 <br /> Present: Bob and Bev Wooldridge, Trish Parolski, Maria Hortaridis, Marilyn Farren, Terrie <br /> Cook. Absent: Charles Maintanis, Mert Sapers, William Dundon. <br /> I <br /> Also, Jonathan Leavitt, sitting in with the hope of becoming a member of the ADA Committee. <br /> The meeting was called to order at 2PM in Rm 2 at Mashpee Town Hall. <br /> Minutes: The Minutes of February 3, 2011 were passed until the next meeting. <br /> Mailer Insert/Beach Access Fund-Raiser: The Committee would like to create a FYI flyer <br /> insert to take to the BOS for their approval. We can coordinate with Kathleen Moore to include <br /> it with a May mailing. The flyer will include name, address, email address, phone, amount of <br /> donation. It will state that the donation is tax deductible. To date, we have received around <br /> $1,100, and we need $5,000. Bev stated this will provide beach access for everyone, including <br /> kids in wagons. <br /> South Cane Villaze/Popponessett Marketplace Update: These items were passed. <br /> Town Meeting. Wayne Taylor and Terrie Cook will record an audio version of the warrant at the <br /> Audible Ledger. The Warrant will be made available at the Town Hall,the Library, and the <br /> Senior Center. Kathleen Moore will supply large print warrants. Bob will check with Jim Long <br /> at the Senior Center about rides to the Meeting on May 2nd. <br /> New Business: William Dundon is planning to submit a letter of resignation. <br /> Charlie passed along that the Community Preservation Committee is meeting soon, and this <br /> would be a good opportunity to raise issues for corrective action in the Town Accessibility <br /> Report. CPC Funds can be used for maintenance on CPC bought properties. <br /> We need to look into closed captioning TV of our Selectmen's meetings. <br /> Bob received a correspondence from SMILE, who provide handicap vacation rentals for children <br /> and their families,with therapy provided. Bob will meet with the spokesperson to learn more. <br /> Bob distributed `Updates to the ADA' from the Mass. Office on Disability. Bob recommended a <br /> link with this Office on our website to report barriers/obstacles to mobility. <br /> Next Meeting.
