Scabury Club to contact. Leisure Services might be able to allocate $500 or so.
It was noted that the Community Preservation Act funds can only be used to purchase land.
We have to be ready for the fall application when the awards are made. Non-profits could
possibly hold the money in escrow and pay direct. We can ask Town Manager Joyce Mason the
procedural steps to follow, and do we have to have funding in place and where do we park the
money. The committee chose the teak over the trex(which is heavy and can break). Charlie and
Bill will be the sub committee on this project. Also, there are three beach access wheelchairs
available for use at South Cape Beach and John's Pond that can be reserved for use by contacting
Gus Frederick at Leisure Services. Gus suggested a ramp and fishing dock for a future project.
Cape Cod Disability Access Directory: Patricia Lugo will get an updated copy for members.
Closed Captioning/Cable: Several towns are negotiating together with Comcast, and the hope is
that the Consortium will have an influence.
Completed Project: The bumper stops have been installed in the high school auditorium, thanks
to Patricia Lugo and Brad Tripp.
Next Meeting: May 14, 2009 at 2:00 P.M.
Adjournment: Motion made to adjourn at 3:30 p.m., seconded. Vote: Unanimous.
Respectfully submitted,
G
rp stho e, Recog Secretary
Mary
