Barrier Free Playground: Trish Parolski has been trying to reach the Senior Advisor for high
school projects to discuss the playground and boardwalk access to the beach. Terrie Cook will
follow-up with the Eagle Project Leader. Catherine Laurent could help with the cost estimates
for these projects. The Eagle Scout Leader and Senior Advisor need to provide a cost estimate.
Perhaps we can invite the Senior Advisor to our September meeting. We can also talk about
boardwalk engraving. Terrie Cook suggested installing a ramp behind the Archive Building, and
perhaps enlisting the Cape Tech and Senior Projects students to help.
Ad Hoe Committee on Visitability: Bob Wooldridge stated that he had nothing new to report.
There was discussion that local authorities require higher standards down Cape. Any changes to
the building code needs to be pursued through the State Board of Building Regulations and
Standards. Enlisting CORD (Cape Organization for the Rights for the Disabled) at public
hearings could be helpful.
COMCAST Contract: Bob Wooldridge reported that all channels will be digital by February
2009, and the consortium is trying to negotiate details and the need for closed captioning.
Reminder: Put your comments into the handicap website: nehandicapaccess.com.
There will be no meeting in August.
Next meeting will be Thursday, September 11".
The meeting adjourned at 3:30 p.m.
"-7)/7.dAq V&
Mary sthorpe, Recor g Secretary
