It was noted that offering 25% affordable housing would not <br /> advance the Town's goal to reach 10% affordable housing. <br /> New Ideas for Cape Cod <br /> A seminar regarding"New Ideas for Cape Cod"took place on March 13. Mr. Isbitz spoke with event <br /> organizers and indicated that there was a lot of material to absorb, and that it was architecturally <br /> oriented. Financing and environmental concerns were also addressed in a fast-moving Japanese format <br /> presentation. BSA Cape Cod will release a video and a follow-up session was expected to take place <br /> in the fall. <br /> 40B Workshop <br /> The workshop was in process at the Cape Cod Commission, The Chair will find out about acquiring <br /> materials from the workshop. It, was noted that there would be an additional workshop on May I at 7 <br /> p.m, Ms. Egloffrecommended moving next month's meeting to the Cape Cod Commission in order to <br /> attend the workshop. <br /> AFFORDABLE HOUSING PLAN <br /> Regarding Section IV and Housing Supply, Ms. Egloff inquired about the population that contributed <br /> to the increase that caused the population to double. Chairman Abbott suggested that the specific <br /> information may not yet be available from the latest census. Mr. Johnson pointed out that 41% of the <br /> housing was condominiums, which were predominantly 55 and over. The Chair suggested that many <br /> residents may be only part time residents. Regarding page 7, the Chair recommended using the 2009 <br /> data since the 2010 census information had been unavailable. Mr. Johnson referenced'Table 4 and <br /> there was discussion about seasonal units in comparison to year-round units. It was recommended that <br /> reference to Figure I be changed to Figure 2 on page 9. The Chair stated that 411/o affordable housing <br /> required an adjustment to 3,5% on page 12. Chairman Abbott recommended other changes to page 13, <br /> including the removal of a donation of land to the May Institute, Regarding Table 8, the Chair <br /> recommended adding the new Breezy Acres units and Xh-. Johnson inquired about the 10 unit housing <br /> complex located adjacent to the high school. Ms. Egloff recommended acquiring an accounting of the <br /> CPA funds. The Chair indicated that he would follow up with Selectman O'Hara and the treasurer for <br /> more information about the CPA funds. There was discussion regarding the difference between the <br /> Town's affordable housing and subsidized affordable housing on page 12. Ms. Egloff inquired about <br /> the status of Monomoscoy and Selectman Sherman responded that the issue had gone to Land Court, <br /> On page 14, it was recommended that Mashpee Woods be removed. <br /> Chairman Abbott will make the changes and submit a new version of the document to the Committee. <br /> NEXT MEETING <br /> The May I meeting will be held at,the Cape Cod Commission at 6:30 p.m, <br /> MEETING ADJOURNMENT <br /> A motion was made by Mr. Johnson to adjourn the Mashpee Affordable Housing Committee. <br /> Motion seconded by Mr. Isbitz.
