Selectmen's Meeting Room, Mashpee Town lull <br /> Present: Chairman Alan T'rebat,Kalliope Egloff, Walter Abbott, Berkeley Johnson, Fred <br /> Detschel <br /> Also Present: Selectman Michael Richardson <br /> Call to order <br /> Chairman T'rebat called the roll at 6:33 p.m. <br /> Approval of Minutes-March 1, 2011 <br /> There was discussion regarding the use of the word"projects' on Page 2 and the controversy that <br /> sometimes surround the use of the word. <br /> A notion was made by Mr. Abbott to accept the minutes as presented. lis, Egloff <br /> seconded the motion. All voted unanimously. <br /> Habitat for Humanity-Park Place lay and Tri-'Town Circle Projects <br /> Don Dickenson, from Habitat for Humanity, addressed the Committee about a project, <br /> contingent upon permitting, which would place a single family on each of three parcels of land. <br /> Mr. Dickenson reported that the 2010 Spring Town Meeting supported an article that authorized <br /> the Board of Selectmen to release an RFP seeking non-profit builders for affordable housing and <br /> Habitat for Humanity was selected as the developer. Each parcel.of land has been designated a <br />' undersized by the current zoning of 40,000 square feet. The Habitat parcels ranged from 11,000- <br /> 2 3 000 <br /> 1,0 - <br /> 23000 square feet; however the lot size was consistent with the size of other lots In the <br /> neighborhoods. Mr. Dickenson reported that the project would o before the honing Board of <br /> Ap peals to secure fnendl r 0B Comprehensive Permit. Habitat must fiat apply to the <br /> e artment of Housing and �o rnun t Development for their approval and to acquire site <br /> royal letter to be presented to the ZBA. W. Dickenson added that a signature from the Chair <br /> n with a letter stating that the project <br /> of the Affordable Housing Comrmttee was necessary, ado p � <br /> had been reviewed and was supported the Committee.. Mr. Dickenson noted that he would <br /> also be seeking a letter of support from the BOS. The Chair inquired whether there would be <br /> one application or three separate applications and Mr. Dickenson responded that one application <br /> would be submitted to DHCD representing all three sites because 0% of selected families could <br /> berl shp ee residents and three homes on one application would result in 2.1 allowing for local <br /> preference. Three separate applications would be presented to the ZBA for permitting purposes. <br /> 11 <br />, x. Dickenson distributed copies of the plans of the homes to the members of the Committee. , <br /> Mr. Dickenson reported that two of the parcels were located on Park Place way of of Route 130 <br /> and located below South Sandwich Road. The homib has been designed as a straightforward <br /> -handicap accessible, three bedroom ranch, I ' bath, full basement and two car driveway. Mr. <br /> Dickenson noted that the parcels were nicely wooded and Habitat planned to remove-as few trees <br /> as possible, with plans to also add landscaping in areas that were cleared. <br /> * <br />
