Mashpee Affordable Housing Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> mutes <br /> September 7 2010 at 7 pm <br /> Selectmen's Meeting Room, Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Present: Chairman Alan Trebat, Bud Abbott, Ialliope Egloff <br /> Also Present: Selectman Liaison Michael Richardson <br /> Absent: Amy Snider, Berkeley Johnson <br /> Call to Order <br /> Chairman Alan Trebat called the roll and the meeting was called to order at :10 p.rn. <br /> Approval of Mi n utes-A ugu st 3,2010 <br /> notion was made by Mr. Abbott to accept the minutes for the August 3rd meeting. Mr. <br /> Trebat seconded the motion. Mr. Abbott and Mr, Trebat voted to approve the minutes,Ms. <br /> Egloff was not present at the August 3 meeting. i <br /> Update on willowbend Duplex Proposal Status <br /> Selectman Richardson provided a Department of works update. Selectman Richardson <br /> � l P <br /> reported that facilities tanager Brad Trip and DPW Director Catherine Laurent inspected the <br /> structure and reported that, should.the building be accepted, it will need to be completely gutted and <br /> will require a new roof, siding, VAndows.and doors. Devin Sylvester, a moving contractor, provided an <br /> estimate to move the 24 Beet by 38 feet structure amounting to $30,000. Additional costs would be <br /> incurred to gut the building. Steve Cook and Torn "Hara also inspected the home and agreed that the <br /> building would not be worth the cast of the move. Additionally, compliance with the building code <br />' would require significant effort and funds. It was recommended that the Committee accept <br /> til Iowbend's offer to donate $1000 per lot, or$5000, rather than accept the duplex proposal. <br /> Committee members were in agreement. <br /> motion was made by Ms. Egloff to disregard the Willowbend duplex proposal. Motion <br /> seconded by Mr. Abbott. All voted unanimously. <br /> Schooner Lane Affordable Housing Unit Status <br /> Chairman Trebat has been in contact with Karen Davis of the Housing Assistance Corporation <br /> regarding the one bedroom condominium unit located on Schooner Lane that is faking foreclosure. i <br /> FIs. Davis confirmed that the unit is facing foreclosure and the deed restriction states that foreclosure <br /> would terminate the deed restrictions that make it affordable. Vis. Davis provided the Chair with a <br /> contact person at Cape Cod Five to discuss the natter further. The Chair also confirmed that the <br /> owner of the unit is deceased and that the heirs are attempting to sell the home. 1s. gloff <br /> recommended that the Chair consider contacting Darin weeks at Cape Cod Five in Mashpee who <br /> serves as a liaison to the Affordable Mousing Committee. <br /> + <br /> Discussion of Regionalization of Affordable Housing Planning <br /> Bill Newton was not available to provide an update. Discussion will be postponed until the next <br /> meeting. <br /> Review o the Mashpee Affordable Housing Mission Statement and Brochure <br /> Ms. Egloff provided an updated draft of the brochure, implementing changes that were discussed at <br /> previous meeting. Ms. Egloff suggested that Committee members review the text and design and share <br /> their thoughts with her. ibis. Egloff utilized proactive wording and eliminated negative sounding text. <br />
